If you were to ask me this time last year would I still be going I would very nervously say yes, partially due to the fact that I started with nothing but a broken IPAD (the moment you realise what the photo above is for, yes that is the actual Ipad haha) and a big vision, I definitely had doubts at the beginning of this project and it has definitely had its ups and downs, from nervous breakdowns to technological ones, 25 guests later I can proudly say we are creating a fantastic community of people who share information with one another, support each other and have fun while doing it!
People often ask me what inspired this platform, I believe there is plenty of information out there from people who have run successful multi million businesses, plenty of motivational content, I call it the ‘Go Win’ content, but there is very less information on the nitty gritty start of it all and who better to speak to, than the people starting their businesses in today’s era, especially in world pandemic! From property specialists, to wedding planners, to rappers, singers, cake makers and newly innovated products we’ve had a huge range of business owners talking all about their journey, what motivated them and inspired them. There is beauty in every business and every owner and this platform is all about elevating them and showing their work to the world.
If you ask me what separates our platform from every other platform out there, well to start with there is next to none platforms that are purely showcasing the work of small businesses only, we also run live which means we are fully exposing ourselves, no edits just real and raw info, hats off to all the brave guests who took on this challenge. We initially started with editing and pre recording, but running changebranding at the same time and having such low resources meant that we had to adapt so we decided to go live, using restream as our main platform to stream to facebook, twitch, youtube and instagram (when it decide to work). When I watched the interviews, every conversation was so genuine and real and although we are new and maybe the level of detail could be so much higher it was a great start. I am proud to bring some light to the small business community in what has been somewhat dark times.
Here is a breakdown of some of our guests and what I learnt from them, please note you can find all these interviews on our website, and if you haven’t already we would appreciate the support by liking, commenting and subscribing.
Cavan O’grady, owner and founder of stratton automotive – ‘Jumping into the big wide world of an entrepreneur is like standing on a diving board, you’re standing on the edge, you think do I go or not, but as soon as you’re in the water you can only move forward.’
Shamil Mae, Owner and founder of Pilot My Property, – ‘The reason why service accommodation, air bnb industry is great is because normally on a single let, 1 bed apartment you can make around 600 pounds a month, if the landlord was doing service accommodation he could make 1,500 to 2000 a month, minus bills, 1000 profit, a lot more money than single let and if you have 20 of those, thats 20,000 a month’ (obviously outside of corona season).
Saheli Mirpuri, Owner and founder of of Saheli Events – ‘I didn’t write a business plan, I thought how hard can it be, I wanted to focus more on my branding, website, logo, and I thought once I launched that I would be ready to launch my business, I then decided to go to networking events to get my business out there and I happened to come across my very first client, once you have that first booking and you overcome your first hurdle, you believe in yourself a little more.
Mayday, upcoming grime artist from Kingstanding, ‘ The way I have networked, is I see who is who, whether its a grime scene in another country or If I know about these people, I’ll just dm them on Insta, what people get wrong is they say, ‘yo bro check out this’, they ask upfront without offering any value, whereas me I will support their ting and let their ting grow, even if its checking in how they are doing, because people appreciate that, and then you can say, if you have a spare minute check out what I am doing. (The biggest collab of his career was manufactured by supporting what that guy was doing, following up on it and offering value first.)
Tru Powell, multi award winning business owner – ‘ I could never have predicted this, (the lockdown),…., it became a stressful period. There were no resolutions provided to begin with,.. with a few conversations with senior business leaders in Birmingham,.. How could we adapt our services to reflect this new age that we are going into? It was a case of writing down all of our service offerings from A to Z,.. and then writing down revenue streams, and looking at how businesses can make money, and how I can pivot my services and then building a strategy around maximising.
Jay Gill, owner of Jheez Official – ‘ It’s important for brands to really partner up.., implementing the lockdown into branding…the way that I have implemented it is by encouraging people to really think about what they are wearing at home…, grasp this opportunity to wear tracksuits when you’d usually be wearing a suit and a tie.
After this we hit a break, not only had I lost some confidence in myself but I was also struggling to prioritise what was important to me, and worrying about the opinions of people who were actually taking no action whatsoever. As a tip guys don’t take the advice of people who aren’t fighting in the battlefield, if you are showing up you are doing more than most! With the help of my business partner, Igor we bounced back and were back with a bang, this time going live…eeek!
Raveena Shergill, Senior relationship manager, AstroForex – ‘Every single second the market is moving, its fluctuating, so you’re basically bidding against one currency pair going higher than the other or the opposite way, so you’re putting money in, placing these bids and making money out of that.’
Zayyan Armani, Founder of EPN – ‘Financial freedom is about… making you enough money so you can choose to leave your job, go travelling and choose where you spend your time.’The rent to rent business model has been around for a while,….’

James Bullingham, Owner and founder of Bullingham Visuals – ‘ People want to be involved, when you’re building a business you want to be a part of all of it, it can be really easy to fall into the trap of doing everything,…find a creative that you really trust and hand the role over to them so they can do what their best at.’
Raji – ‘ what do you enjoy the most about photography and videography?’
James- ‘I just get a feeling sometimes when I’m sat in the edit,..or flicking through footage, it’s just a feeling when you’ve dropped your footage into the timeline, maybe done abit of a colour grade, and then you’ve thrown some music on it and you’re kind of starting to build some sound design as well and there’s just kind of a moment when you go ah that’s the thing that was in both of our heads in the meeting, that’s now beginning to become real.’
Priyesh, life coach, Jay Shetty Certified. – Getting help has allowed me to help other people, getting help is one of the best things you can do.
Mikolaj Skubina, double startup founder, timeqube inventor – ‘Resilience can be the biggest challenge, you need to have this proper mindset,…without discipline its very hard to achieve some greater goals and to progress’
